Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was on Wednesday ruled out of the remaining matches of IPL 2022 due to a rib injury in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed the development to NDTV. “Yes, he is out, he has a rib injury. He is out of the IPL,” Viswanathan said.
An official CSK release said, “Ravindra Jadeja suffered a rib injury and was unavailable for Chennai Super Kings’ game against Delhi Capitals on Sunday. He was under observation and based on medical advice, he was given the IPL title. The rest of the season was kicked out.” ,
Jadeja had a tremendous season before the start of the tournament as he was handed the captaincy of the franchise as MS Dhoni decided to take a backseat. But CSK had a poor start in the tournament and Jadeja lost form with both bat and ball.

This resulted in Jadeja handing back the captaincy to Dhoni so that he could concentrate on his game before suffering an injury that has now ruled him out of the tournament.
Defending champions CSK are out of the race for a place in the playoffs.
If they fail to finish in the top 4, it will be only the second time that CSK have not reached the playoff stage of the tournament.
